The Concert on the Green is now in its 25th year and is the largest event of its kind in Clay County.  The 2012 event location will be located at Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club in Green Cove Springs, FL.

Each year the Concert on the Green hosts a symphony concert for thousands of local residents in a beautiful outdoor setting. The concert is the most attended Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra performance outside of Symphony Hall. For many Clay County residents this is their only opportunity to hear a live performance.

However, the Concert on the Green is much more than just an annual concert. Each year we host the Young Artist Scholarship Competitions in which music and art students compete for scholarships. These two competitions encourage and support the artistic abilities of Clay County students. Proceeds from the Concert on the Green will benefit Clay County Schools’ Music and Art programs and Rotary charities.

As with any event of this magnitude, scores of volunteers are needed to create the unique family experience provided by the Concert on the Green year after year.

This year’s entertainment and events, in addition to the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, will include:

• An audience of concert goers, picnicking with their families.
• Pre-concert entertainment by local musical performers and choral groups
• Pre-concert activities for the children including an Instrument Zoo, arts and crafts
• The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra performing light classical and pops arrangements
• A rousing grand finale of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture
• A spectacular fireworks show
