The 2009 Concert on the Green Poster Contest was a tremendous success! There were over 80 entries from school-age children in Clay County. Please encourage your students to participate in 2010!

IMPORTANT REMINDER TO STUDENT: Your poster must be delivered to Village Gallery by Friday March 5, 2010. Please print your application and submit it with your poster on or before the deadline. Please contact Debbie Durbonne at 264-7151 if you need additional information. Late entries (after March 5, 2010 at 5pm will NOT be accepted).

The annual Concert on the Green Poster Contest is an excellent opportunity for students and their art programs. Winning students not only receive a scholarship award, but also they receive recognition for their work and will have a juried piece for their portfolios.

Who is Eligible?: ANY school-age student residing in Clay County, grades K – 12

Entry Requirements: A poster must be designed on 11inch x 17inch paper or canvas using any artistic medium. Winning posters will reflect the importance of art and music in the Community. For questions, contact Debbie Derbonne at Village Art Gallery at 264-7151.

Deadline: March 5, 2010 at 5pm. All entries must have an application attached, they must be delivered to the Village Art Gallery, 358B Stiles Ave., Orange Park, phone: 264-7151. No late entries will be accepted.

Judging: Judging will be based on the artwork that will make the best POSTER. Judging will be performed by 3 judges chosen for their expertise in the visual arts and printing. Winners will be announced on the Concert on the Green website on or before March 30, 2010.

The Clay County school program responsible for producing the winning poster will receive a program grant(*) for their art program in addition to recognition via Concert on the Green press releases and news articles. In 2009, this award went to Fleming Island High!

First Place Winner:

  • Receives a scholarship(*) to the college or art camp of choice
  • Wins the privilege of having her/his concept used in this year's Concert on the Green advertising poster and the cover design for the event program
  • Poster is matted and framed at no cost to the winner
  • Recognition: at www.concertonthegreen.com, the April 2010 Clay County Fair, and other advertising media

Second Place Winner:

  • Receives a scholarship(*) to the college or art camp of choice
  • Recognition: at www.concertonthegreen.com, the April 2010 Clay County Fair, and other advertising media

Third place Winner:

  • Receives a scholarship(*) to the college or art camp of choice
  • Recognition: at www.concertonthegreen.com, the April 2010 Clay County Fair, and other advertising media

Honorable mention awards (for the best high school, middle and elementary school):

  • Receives 4 free tickets to the 2010 Concert on the Green
  • Recognition: at www.concertonthegreen.com and other advertising media

(*) The value will be between $250 and $1,500, depending upon availability of funds.

RELEASE: In consideration of Concert on the Green, Inc. (“COG”) allowing poster/artwork that I submit to be exhibited and judged in connection with the 2010 Concert on the Green Poster Art Contest and posting the entry on its web site, entrant authorizes and grants a nonexclusive, perpetual license to COG to use, copy, print, distribute, and publicly display my entry, with or without my name. I understand that the original winning posters may be auctioned in connection with the event and funds received utilized for nonprofit purposes by COG. I represent and warrant that I am of legal age (or, if not, that my parent or legal guardian consents to this Release on my behalf).
